Jennifer Stevens

Native to Florida, Jennifer studied journalism at UCF and worked as a writer until 2009, when she decided to pack her belongings into two suitcases and move to the other side of the world. She spent a year-and-a-half teaching English in Korea, where she quickly caught the travel bug, as well as a love for teaching. This encouraged her to go back to the Sunshine State to get her teaching license. Since then, Jennifer has taught English and Literature to middle schoolers and high schoolers at international schools in Bogotá and Shanghai. While teaching, she always maintained her writing portfolio, and in 2016 she decided to go back into writing full-time, joining Shanghai Family as the web editor. When she's not writing or teaching, Jennifer is scouring the city for new restaurants, moonlighting as a street food tour guide, or walking her rescue dog Charlie, with her husband Luke.
